The place is not clean upon arrival, we found mold, trash, leaky pipes under the carpet, and a carpet that you can tell hasnt been cleaned properly in years. The price is attractive as it is cheap, but The Pines will take every chance they can possibly conceive to charge you more money. Between all the random little fees on top of regular rent, my roommates and I paid upwards of 1500. For the final clean check, we cleaned the apartment to be even cleaner than it was before we moved in, because it was pretty gross when we moved in, and we still got a fee of more than 500 dollars for cleaning. The beds are also very old, you can feel every spring on your back. This place would be worth the price, but unfortunately, they do not care much for their tenants as they get new people very frequently, so therefore they charge everything they can to take as much money from you as possible. It is worth it to just go somewhere better for more money up front as you will be paying more to live at the pines than almost any other single student housing in all of Rexburg for a subpar living space.

The apartment management is very poor.
They do not listen to their tenants. I would suggest living somewhere else that will address the living situation as we all pay rent and should have equal rights to a safe clean environment. Also to the owner or management please don’t leave a comment on how sorry you are that it was a bad experience because you didn’t address the issue in real life so don’t fake it here.

The apartments themselves aren't bad they are pretty decent (they are clean, cozy, and relatively decently spaced), but this complex does have it's problems. The gym is a joke (it doesn't look like it does in the picture shown). The only machine that is still there from the picture is the Pepsi vending machine. Other than that, they have two machines. One is a broken olyptical, and the other is a barely working cycling machine. The worst of it, though, is the laundry situation. A lot of the machines don't even work (fix this please, Pines management). My only other gripe is that the hallways are kinda dirty. Other than that, the Pines are a good deal for the price and are a one minute walk from campus. They also have a really cool lounge room in the girl's building. I would recommend if you are looking for something pretty affordable but there are better options.

I am genuinely baffled that this place has even a single star. The apartments are old and unkempt. The air circulation in the apartment and hallway is terrible, so the air becomes stale very quickly. The management's consistency in saying they care and actually showing it is about as consistent as the shower temperature (hint: it isn't consistent at all). The washers are disgusting and reek of mildew, and the dryers are about as efficient as hanging the clothes on a wire and using a hair dryer on them. Despite the complaints, they haven't been repaired for months. I have to go elsewhere to do my laundry so that I can have clean clothes. But hey, they'll buy a new pool table and put a sealant over a pothole-infested parking lot. The towing companies for the apartment parking are brutal and predatory, more so than any other company I've seen being here since 2021. They would shake you down for everything you had if it weren't outside their gray area of Idaho state law. The price and proximity to campus might be tempting, but you have been warned. I'd stay away at all costs.

Was interested in housing located around campus but after talking to a few people who live and who have lived here, I'm absolutely not interested. The quality of the apartments are worse than you'd expect from the pictures they list, and my friends have talked about the lack of proper management support for the problems that they face.

I stayed there and had a fairly good time, the management was amazing and a joy to work with. But there were some challenges with the maintenance crew. I had a work order take about a month to be properly done for lights, and another took 2 (the bed frame was not set up for the side of the room it was on.) I understand they went through a few different people but it just took a long time.

The laundry is a challenge, you do need to pay for it and sometimes you need to run the dryer twice.

It's a little bit of a walk to campus but I did enjoy it (bout 15 min if you walk slow)

I'm not sure overall if I would go back after my mission, but it's an option.

The price is really cheap, but it’s not worth it. In my apartment we had mold under the sinks, a leaking ceiling, mold in the windows, broken heater, and a broken dishwasher, all of which we put maintenance requests in for and they didn’t get fixed. The laundry room is a disaster, and the “gym” is nonexistent. The pictures they show for this place are WILDLY inaccurate. There are several different places on campus with similar prices that are a lot better, more well kept, and you will not be at risk of getting cholera.
(I also reached out to the managers, like they said in the comment below, and they didn’t respond….. convenient. )🫤 0/10 👎🏼

The price is what you’d expect from a regular apartment, but there are plenty of better apartments with lower cost rent and lower cost amenities. I’d recommend elsewhere.

The processing fee is $150 which is over double most apartments. Most apartments charge $20-75 but I’ve never seen anything over $100.
The parking pass is $100 but you have to park far from the apartment. Most apartments are $50-80 for a parking pass that’s close to the apartment. This is especially inconvenient during winter.
Most apartments don’t charge their tenants extra to use the washers and driers.
The kitchen is the smallest I’ve ever had. Even much cheaper apartments have larger kitchens. The sinks are too shallow to easily wash pots or pans.
The toilets are small enough for only a child to fit comfortably, and that’s not an exaggeration.
The shower head is chest-height.
There is no air conditioning nor any ventilation, so the air gets stale very quickly, so plan on getting sick frequently if you come during winter.
The management on the other hand is great. They’re easy to work with and responsive to any maintenance issues. I have no issue with management.
It just feels like the owners didn’t budget ahead of time for the men’s apartments, so their solution is to make it appear cheap with rent, but raise the prices of every amenity to over double what they are worth.
