Just got Ramen at the Fest. Always delious and loce supporting them. Will add the flour they used for the vegan mochi was rancid. Not sure if anyone taste testing those. Had to toss them.

What a warm and inviting space for both Buddhist practitioners and new comers alike. Reverend Opel encourages everyone to join her talk held after services in the temple basement. The atmosphere of acceptance and tolerance is palpable here. The 125th anniversary of the Shin Buddhist Church in America is this year! So with all the celebration going on it's a great time to get acquainted with your Spokane Buddhist neighbors right here in the Lilac City.

Ramen festival was a nice gesture to the community but what the city needs is a real ramen festival with ramen served hot and tables available on site.

Wonderful group of people. Very welcoming. Dharma talks are thought provoking and not "lectures". They hold several fundraising food fests with traditional Asian food. Highly recommend following them on Facebook.

The original building housing The Spokane Buddhist Temple was destroyed by an arson fire in 1992 and rededicated in 1994. The original shrine was saved by firefighters and is in use in the new temple.
Following the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha and the founder Shinran Shonin , the Spokane Buddhist Temple is a member of the Buddhist Churches of America and the sect of Buddhism is known as Jodo Shinshu Buddhism. Services are in English and open to visitors , as everyone is welcome.
