There is a parking lot very close to this section of the Wallkill Rail Trail. Its a very short walk to the trestle and mostly flat though you would think it required a climb from looking at it from below and from the parking lot. At mile 15 theres a really cool cave too. Yesterday the day was very hot and the cool air filtering out of the cave was amazing..natural air conditioning!

A short walk from the car park on to the bridge itself (many people biking which looked like a the best way to see the area)The view from and of the bridge is great. It’s well maintained and wide enough for bikes to pass those walking easily and for both to enjoy the views.

Beautiful trail culminating in an elevated bridge that overlooks the river, entire town and valley. Beautiful scenery to explore and take awesome panoramic pictures. Great for hiking or biking and had a lot of entry and exit points that make it easy to enjoy a much or as little of the trail as you wish. Highly recommended.

Rosedale and the TRESTLE are amazing for a LONG... or short walk. take detour off the main path and BRIDGE for a 1.5mile rt hike to a scenic overlook or head down to main street like we did for some lunch and to browse the adorable local shops! oh and don't forget to step off the path near the caves to feel the crisp cold air coming from below! it'll cool you off on a hot summer day and amaze your mind!❤️

The Rosendale Trestle is a wonderful feature on the great Wallkill Valley Rail Trail. It is a high point in the area with spectacular views of the Rondout Creek Valley. You can get an even more spectacular view from the top of the trail on the adjoining Joppenbergh Mountain with the Trailhead in Willow Kiln Park behind the Rosendale Theater.

such a beautiful place! You get a spectacular view of the village below and Joppenbergh mountain. You don’t have to walk too far to get there, probably about a quarter of a mile. It’s part of the Walkill Bike Trail, so you can walk on the paved part from the parking lot to the trestle or the little path in the woods. Either way, both paths take you to the trestle. If you go on the path in the woods, you get to feel the cold cave, which on a hot day feels like nature’s air conditioning! It has mist coming out of it, it’s really cool! I am definitely coming back here to show this hidden gem to more of my friends.

This is a great hiking trail! I do recommend bringing a bicycle if you have one because the trail is quite long. There are patches of poison ivy that is laying around so deff be careful. In terms of social distancing, there is alot of social distancing. This is where the Quiet Place the movie was filmed so it was definitely an eerie experience. But overall, a great hike!
