Another update: Yesterday (3/3/25), I had a deep tissue massage with Jorge Matias due to back spasms that started on Sunday afternoon. I was glad there was an opening for a massage yesterday and the therapist with Jorge. First, I really appreciated that he took a few minutes to ask me about the issues I was dealing with then did a couple of assessments, which allowed him to target his massage work. Wow, he did an amazing job on my neck, as I'm recovering from a pinched nerve that has been causing tingling in my forearm and hand. When he did the assessment again at the end of the session, guess what? No tingling in my forearm or hand!! He also did work on my lower left back and glute where the back spasms had been occurring. I love deep tissue yet never did I feel he was pushing so hard that I would feel injured (as I felt at a pseudo massage joint in central CA where I visited a few weeks back...ouch). Yes, perhaps the fee may be higher than people would like but it's therapy and worth it. I say this as one who is remarkably privileged to access this service; however, I also know that Pellegrino is so good about offering community services that are more affordable. Jorge, you're the best!!!

Another update: I had a 45 min myofascial massage with Tara Shelton who was fantastic. Wow, she got at places that I never thought would get released. It’s definitely deeper than the typical deep tissue massage; however, it’s really what I need for my back issues. So grateful that each practitioner here is wonderful that I have no faces. I appreciate them all!

Update: Today I had a myofascial massage to adress side back pain. It’s quite different from the massages in the past; however, the sustained pressure on areas of my body was exactly what was needed. Chelsea did a remarkable job as well as giving me advice on how I may work on my fascia in between sessions. Worth every penny!

I just left after my first acupuncture appointment with Catherine and I left feeling no pain. The space is so calm and restful and roomy. I have been to acupuncture many times before but this was the first time I left a session experiencing such results. I had come in due to flank and back pain from a boating incident over a month ago. As a result I wasn’t able to sleep well and had, strangely enough, side abdominal pain. Catherine did acupuncture on the front side of me then had me lay on my back. As expected, I had the best rest (without falling asleep) in weeks but unexpectedly as I write earlier I experienced no pain! She also asked me to take magnesium and calcium to assist in the healing process. I’ll see her for three more weeks twice a week and anticipate feel 110% better. Add to this, my insurance pays for it with me paying a minimal copay (!)

I am honored to share my experience regarding the Pellegrino Healing Center. I was in search several years ago for alternative Methods and Medicines different from the traditional recommended approaches regarding health in our country.
I discovered what is now clearly my healing place. Christine, the owner heard my plead for help and although she was not taking on new patients, she sat me down and listen to my concerns.
Our conversation turned into real sharing and discussion that led to my first appointment ever regarding "Acupuncture." Although I was afraid, her questions, knowledge, and compassion regarding what I was experiencing in my body, Led her to suggest that I come for a consultation and scheduled an appointment for me.
Needless to say, I have shared my experience with many inquisitive individual over the years. I tell them I go to a healing center that is my happy place.They see it on my face and that it comes from my heart. I immediately share contact information with them and strongly suggest that they make an appointment immediately.
Since my first session, I have tried several alternative treatments and programs as I will continue to Invest in myself.
Oh by the way, the place has doubled in its size and added an authentic "Salt Cave" Massages, and so many other experiences. I guess you have to go and visit and see for yourself, you deserve it. ENJOY!

It's a full experience vs. a one off treatment. I loved the modalities that were used in addition to accupuncture like microcurrents and cupping. And everyone I've encountered this is so nurturing! It was my second appointment and after the first appointment I already saw a huge reduction in my pain

This business is absolutely amazing. The interior decor is inviting, calming and peaceful. The staff are friendly and professional. Mary did a fantastic performance of deep tissue massage on me. I recommend going and getting treatments from this establishment. I can't wait for the next time.

This place is amazing and we are so lucky to have them in Hyde Park!!!!!
I started getting acupuncture here about 6 weeks ago for knee pain and tech neck/upper back issues. I’ve had 4 appointments with Stephanie now and not only is my knee pain basically gone (they still make crackling sounds lol but at least no pain!)
I’m a pretty serious athlete (I play for 2 local roller derby teams as well as the NY State All Star exhibition team) and not only has my pain gotten much more manageable (if at all) — the treatments are actually making me a better athlete and even having a positive effect on my mood and energy levels! I was open minded going in but definitely didn’t know how many benefits I’d be seeing. I feel like I can play at this level for another 5 years!
They worked with my insurance so it’s super reasonable price wise. They also have an amazing salt cave that make great mom dates lol
If you are looking for pain or stress relief definitely check this place out.

Maria is always very thorough and personable. You can tell she really cares about helping you thru whatever you have going on. Communication is also stellar. Pellegrino reaches out to ME! I do not have to hound anyone and with my schedule I GREATLY appreciate that!

Jorge is hands down the best massage therapist I’ve ever had. It’s evident he knows exactly what he’s doing. He asked questions about my chronic neck pain which was the main focus and not kidding, he hit every single possible part of my neck. Nothing was painful, it all felt like such a relief. I’m already looking forward to returning. The front desk staff was unbelievably sweet. This place is awesome 10/10!!!!!
