I am giving 5 stars for my recent stay at Oswego Hospital. From first walking into the ED, all the way through to being discharged 4 days later I encountered ONLY friendly, caring registration people, nurses, nurse assistants, phlebotomists, doctors, PA's, and people from dietary, imaging and custodial. I have never experienced medical care like that in my life. I hope I remembered everybody. A few people really stood out. Melanie, from dietary, took the time to talk with me to help choose meals, understanding I am a very picky eater. I did not think there would be anything for me to eat when I needed to have solid food before going home. I was wrong! The third floor staff were all amazing. There was not one moment that I felt uncomfortable or uncared for during my stay. Sam, a nurse there, was particularly personable, energetic, kind, knowledgeable and funny! I nominated her for an award. I would love it if she won. She really appears to put her all into that job. This will be the first time I do a shout out for a doctor at Oswego Hospital. Dr. Bernardo is amazing. every day that he came in, he sat right down by my bedside, like he had all the time in the world. He spoke with me about my condition and made sure I understood everything. He was the kindest, most patient doctor I have ever had at that hospital (the doctors in Dr. Grady's office are awesome too). People never have a problem putting in bad reviews for places. I wanted to be sure to put in a great review. Thank you to everyone at Oswego Hospital, you are doing an amazing job!

This hospital needs to make some major changes. I waited hours and ended up just leaving because it was clear I would never have been seen. There were people I was talking to in the waiting room who had been there for 7 plus hours. One guy was having symptoms of a heart attack and they hadn’t even had a doctor look at him. Another person arrived by ambulance and was brought out to the waiting room. Another person had been there the entire day after being sent from their doctor’s office for an emergency MRI and had waited over 7 hours without anyone looking at them. This is unacceptable. People need to be able to get care within a reasonable amount of time. And leaving people out in the waiting room with major issues is just cruel. The staff had no accountability and refused to give anyone an estimation for wait time, or a reason why they hadn’t been seen yet. Something needs to be done about this place. It’s completely unacceptable to treat human beings like that.

After being admitted and undergoing procedures in multiple facilities from Watertown to Syracuse, I can say that the best care I have received has been in the hands of the Oswego Medical network. I went in very nervous about the two procedures that I was having, but was met with nothing but warm and welcoming staff. Everyone from reception to surgeon and all in between were very friendly. Everything was explained to me and all needs attended to. In a world with such a shortage of medical care, I am thankful to have been seen by the people at the Oswego Hospital. These are very hardworking people who are often in thankless positions. Nothing went unnoticed by me. Thank you Oswego.

My daughter was in here and sat for hours. Which as a nurse I know that patients are seen base on the priority of the situation, so that is not the problem. The problem is this nurse was unprofessional and yelling at my daughter and on top of that was yelling and talking about her reason for being there loud so everyone could hear her. After announcing to the everyone her reason for being there. She sat there laughing and talking about my daughter to her fellow coworkers workers and instead of her coworkers stepping up and telling her it was unprofessional ,they joined in the laughing. I will looking into legal actions since her HIPPA rights were repeatedly violated. And as a nurse I find this to be so disappointing that a fellow nurse acted this was. Not everyone is meant to be a nurse and facilities should look more into their staff before hiring them.

Horrible experience, rude/disrespectful staff went in experiencing an asthma attack. Ended up sedated and chained to a bed because I kept asking why blood was being taken. Ended up loosing my breathe i fell, I was dragged across the floor while nurse and doctors kept telling me they didn’t care. The nurse took my phone away before being sedated. Once I woke up no one knew were my stuff was and kept telling me I never had it on me which I did. 2 hours after being awake the finally found my phone. They were more worried on how many drinks I had with dinner than the actual issue of an asthma attack. Which I have chronic asthma. Needles to say the nurse and doctors that were on last night need to be watched.

I had my mother in the ICU for a week and the nurses there took such great care of her and I got a phone call everyday from the Dr!!!! Thank you!!! I can’t say enough good things about that hospital!!!!

horrible. eveyone is so rude and dont care about you. I fainted and was throwing up everywhere and they said it wasn't an emergency even though I came by ambulance. paramedics are so nice and helpful but staff is horrible. after I came by ambulance they put me in the waiting room for 2 HOURS!! told me I could not drink water when I was severely dehydrated. they also said "we think you have food poisoning" without even telling me for sure what I had they didnt test it either. horrible horrible hospital

Absolutely thee worst hospital! Bedside manner is awful! The case workers don't actually help you at all! Trying to discharge my 400lb father (that can't take care of himself) to DSS for a hotel room?!?! Do better Oswego!
