Writing this review makes me very sad. I was a patient of Dr. Knapps when I was young and my children were also patients of hers recently. We have had a relationship with this practice for over 30 years!
However, the front office, particularly Kathy who is in charge, is horrific! They have been notoriously awful for decades but people put up with them because the doctors are wonderful however it’s starting to not be worth it.
Recently, I was accused of not showing up to an appointment that I had scheduled. I had canceled the appointment but they didn’t record it. They charged me $50 after 30 years of never having an issue. I called to explain there was a mistake and they were so obnoxious and rude and told me that I can’t even bring my children there anymore. After 30 years I didn’t even get a phone call from the doctor to explain that I had done nothing wrong. I can Afford a $50 co-pay but I felt that since I had called to cancel I should not have to pay it.
My advice is to steer clear of this practice. The front office makes it so unpleasant and horrible.

Dr Knapp is wonderful! Before her my son was on steroids almost every month. He has been to chop doctors and st Chris doctors and neither came up with a treatment plan that helped much. Now that he has been a patient of dr knapp's he doesn't even have to take his inhaler everyday. She has literally changed his life. I highly recommend!

i am a new patient my bill came to almost $1,500 one visit. including tests she recommended . They didnt bother to let me know the costs ahead so i know . i talked to her billing manager who took my payment , she didn't complete it correctly and another person had to call me back to correct it , the billing manager was rude. Dr. Knapp is a great dr. but she needs to get more involved in billing and in force respect to her patients because of her disrespectful and aggressive billing manger .

Dr. Knapp was absolutely wonderful. Her mannerism, professionalism, and knowledge was immediately and clearly projected and understood.

SADLY, HER STAFF both front and back office are severely lacking, as their first and subsequent impressions have told a very different story about her Newtown practice. Dire-faced medical assistants and reception personnel who seem to be in a constant-aggrieved state do not foster encouragement for return visits to Newtown.
