Our stay in Casa de Alegría last May felt too short. Loved the beautiful and peaceful guest apartment surrounded by amazing gardens. Our favourite moment was having breakfast outside while enjoying the sunshine. Mark and Caroline were fantastic hosts chauffeuring us around and cooking delicious vegan dinners for us. Their vision and energy are infectious. Can’t wait to return this summer.
Nuestra estancia en Cada de Alegría se hizo muy corta. Nos encantó el apartamento de invitados por su estilo y tranquilidad. Además está rodeado por un jardín impresionante. Nuestro momento favorito del día era desayunar fuera disfrutando del sol. Mark y Caroline fueron unos anfitriones fantásticos, llevándonos a todas partes y cocinándonos deliciosas cenas veganas. Su visión y energía son contagiosas. Estamos deseando volver este verano.

Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable about things to do in the area. We spent an evening in bustling Denia sampling the delicious tapas (including vegan/vegetarian options) and wandering the streets taking in the atmosphere. Down by the marinas, there’s no end of fine restaurants and spectacular looking clubs!
For those who value tranquility, there’s the property itself. A vigorous walk is also available as the area is hilly but this has advantages in the vista. The views from the accommodations are stunning and best taken in by the pool with a cold glass of your favourite drink. Highly recommend, we look forward to returning soon.

First guests to the apartment. Love the room – clean, welcoming. Great space with loads of storage for our clothes.

Appreciate the wooden hangers! Bed is super comfy.

Kitchen is great and we loved being able to cook you vegan meals. Hope you enjoyed the Jambalaya, Chilli, African peanut stew and Moroccan chickpea stew.

Thank you for letting us drink your beer and sangria and for your wonderful company.

Absolutely love the area and I enjoyed riding my bike so much! Wish I would ride here every day.

We love your house – especially the garden and pool.

We think this was one of the best holidays we have had and look forward to coming back soon

12th March – I fought the mountain and the mountain won!
Final crack at Montagnes de Pedegeure this morning ended in crunchy gear failure on the first steep part.

Now I will have to return to try again

I arranged an afternoon visit for lessons in relaxation and yoga following my problems with a high blood pressure diagnosis. I found Caroline to be extremely knowledgable and understanding. She gave a great deal of useful advice on relaxation and diet. The location was absolutely amazing - a truely peaceful secluded retreat with views across the valley to the sea. I met Louie - their really friendly small dog who just loves to sit next to you and be stroked. I can thoroughly recommend the "Casa De Alegria Retreat" and look forward to my longer stay which is booked for the summer.

Casa de Alegria is in an idyllic spot for peace and quiet. The views are stunning yet you are not far from the town of Pedregeur. Lots of nice walks or just taking time out by the pool with ideal hosts. Yoga at Casa de Alegria is an amazing experience, with a qualified instructor who loves what she does. You will love it here.

So, one year further on from our first visit and we are lucky to be able to return. To see the massive progress you have made is incredible
You both should be very proud. Guest apartment – new kitchen and bathroom are incredible – love the tile choices.
The new headboard is really excellent ♥

And then all the other changes in your house – to the garden and your new studio – stunning!

As usual you are the perfect hosts and it has been such a pleasure to spend time with you. Oh and if you are missing Louie, it will be because we ‘dogknapped’ him lol – he is such a sweetie !!

No bike riding this time but plenty of running – day 1 – the mountain out the back Monte Pedregeur “bit me!” But after that I fought Monte Pedreguer and won! From the Black Flame and up the twisty hill to you. Not sure I was very fast but at least I ran all the way up each day.

Cynthia enjoyed her yoga sessions with Caroline especially doing her mountain poses and looking out into actual mountains! What a treat!

Much love to both of you and can’t wait to see how much you both continue to progress next time we return – you are both an inspiration to use in positivity and “get up and do it” attitude
