So, I need and want to lead with the fact that a majority of the staff here are *incredible*. All of the admin staff I’ve interacted with are lovely, the counselors are incredible, and I cannot sing their praises enough.

That said, Dr Pejic himself is, unfortunately, the proverbial anchor ‘round the neck for the entire team. Since finding Atlas in January and becoming a patient of his, I never had a single appointment where he could show up on time; and I’m not talking 5 minutes. Consistently, he’d be 10 - 20 minutes late; and when asked about it, at least 5 different team members I spoke to all said some version of, “that’s just how he is”. Which, of course, is a discredit not only to practice, but an insult to his patients’ time and his team’s reputation.
Add to that, the response time for medication refills - unless you go in person for an ever-changing rate - is, frankly, abysmal. I’ve tried to call in a bridge before and - thankfully - the out-of-state pharmacy I was using was incredibly helpful; because I never received a call back or any indication that the message I had left (during business hours on a Friday) was received until well into the following Monday. I’m also currently dealing with being cut cold turkey from a medication I’m *not* supposed to stop suddenly, because - despite my pharmacy requesting the refill last week or the one before - I have yet to be able to get that and now have to spend another nearly $300 for their (again, genuinely *lovely*) LPN to sit with me for 30 minutes and approve it.

So, all in all, while the interpersonal and therapeutic experience has been largely phenomenal, the most honest way to end this is by saying that I can see why Dr Pejic opted for out-of-pocket-only rather leaving his practice susceptible to review by the insurance companies.

Dr. Pejic and his staff are truly a pleasure to work with! They take what can be an overwhelming situation, and make it much more manageable with the wide variety of services offered. They don’t send you running all over the city to different referrals as they have so much in house capability.

In addition to being extremely professional, and up-to-date with the most state of the art technology they offer a very personal and intimate experience. I cannot recommend them enough. Whatever your needs may be they will be able to take care of you competently and compassionately.

Atlas Psychiatry is a respectable practice with many knowledgeable, friendly, and available doctors on staff to fit your specific need. I have been a patient of Dr. Pejic for over a year now. His expert advise and willingness to listen to my input as a patient has produced a beneficial outcome for me and my mental health, far beyond what I ever expected. I am so pleased with the relationship I have built, the care and understanding I have recieved, and the mutual hope for a better life in the future with the help of Dr. Pejic and his staff. They are genuine and offer today's top of the line psychiatric services that I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone in need.

I had my first appointment today with Dr. Hanson and I wanted to leave a detailed review so that others perhaps suffering the way I was might see this and feel confident in choosing Atlas Psychiatry.

I arrived early after enduring a panic attack in traffic on the bridge — I didn’t think I’d make it but I did. It was imperative to me that I make it to him so I fought the panic with everything in me to get there to see him. I was worried that I’d be judged for my state of anxiety upon meeting the doctor but I wasn’t. He welcomed me calmly, he offered me water, which was precisely the energy that I needed. We went over my psychiatric history, family history — all the things necessary for your provider to know so that he can make a detailed assessment of your case. Not one time did I feel judged, ashamed, or embarrassed. Every so often, he would check in and reassure me that I was doing just fine when speaking about very difficult and traumatic things. He was a rock — he was comfort. I have to stress this to you, reader, potential patient because I know how hard it is to find these qualities in a provider.

Dr. Hanson truly listened to me — and when you have anxiety, you tend to feel like no one is hearing you or seeing the struggle within you. But he listened, he heard me, and he saw the struggle. He was empathetic. This is a doctor that genuinely cares about you. You are not just another case, or a file. You’re a human and he treats you that way. Midway through the appointment, my panic attack was fading. I felt safe and that is not something I often feel. At the end of the appointment, he assured me again, that we will get me through this and I believe him. I am confident in him and I trust what he has told me. I left feeling relief… I haven’t felt relief in a long time. I picked up my prescriptions immediately and for the first time in months, I can breathe easily. My heart is not pounding out of my chest. I am not shaking, nauseous, or restless. I finally have hope that things really will get better, I will get my life back and I can’t recommend atlas psychiatry enough.

These providers are passionate and care about the work they are doing and it is very clear.

I know the price point can be a deterrent— don’t let it be. Being in the care of one of these doctors is the best thing you can do for yourself and if you are struggling, it is what you deserve. The best. And they are the best, please give yourself the gift of the best care you will be able to find in this city.

Thank you Dr. Hanson, for everything, for helping me get my life back.

Dr. Pejic has been my Doctor for almost four years now. He has been instrumental in my recovery and progress through some very difficult situations in my life. He understands medicine very well and communicates articulately also utilizing common sense and best practices. He is perceptive and has a good memory. He is most importantly ethical and has integrity. I trust him. I value his advice and his opinion. With his guidance and help as a medical professional I continue to grow and achieve despite life's curve balls. I highly recommend Dr. Pejic to anyone committed to addressing their need for professional support and health.

Dr. Pejic is not so pretty you can't focus, but he's pretty. The best of him is he's thorough, aware, meticulous. His brother is also a great GP at Tulane. So runs in the family. Takes a fine inventory and is obviously natively intelligent and helpful. No weird music playing in the waiting room when I went. Got me in during a medication emergency in a day of my call. Pricey, but under the circumstances, worth it. Close to my home, also, where the other doctor I was considering wasn't. He sniffed me and asked if I was drinking. I finally figured out he smelled the alcohol in my hair gel. Pretty impressive. Think he should be a wine taster in his second iteration!

As an Atlas Psychiatry client for nearly 7 years, Dr. Pejic and the team have been treating me with the utmost compassion and support, setting the standard for psychiatric care in the Greater New Orleans area. I’ve referred all of my friends to Atlas and they also feel Atlas is great.

Besides their personalized approach to patient care, I love how Atlas is constantly evolving both at the administrative level with technology and at the treatment level with new approaches in psychiatry. They’ve integrated full-stack technology throughout the practice to make things more efficient for us as patients (i.e., online appointment scheduling, automated billing, secure messaging for questions and refill requests, etc.) I have yet to hear of another practice in the Greater New Orleans area doing things like Atlas does, which is why I believe they’re on par with practices in major metropolitan cities like New York, Boston, San Francisco, etc.

My recommendation for new patients is to prioritize establishing a rapport with your provider and the staff at Atlas by scheduling regular appointments over a decent period of time (i.e., for some of my friends it has been once a month for a year, but this depends on your clinical needs and you should discuss this in your initial consult) before deciding how you like Atlas. One or two appointments aren’t enough to gauge patient-provider compatibility. There will be some amazing appointments and some tough appointments but that’s to be expected with any clinic.

Overall, I will always recommend Atlas Psychiatry to anyone.

I was very impressed with my experience at Atlas. The people I worked with were kind, knowledgeable, and truly cared about my well-being. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of help by a psychiatrist, counselor or social worker.
